each yo-yo will be dropped from a set height and will be timed till cecession any yo-yo may be used. anyone can enter

HERE ARE THE OFFICIAL RULES FOR THIS YEARS EVENT

1. All tricks performed on first attempt receive 5 points. Second attempt, if necessary, receives 3 points.

2. The yo-yo must be caught with one hand and not trapped against the body.

3. If more than five inches of string remains outside the yo-yo when caught, it is considered a miss.

4. Any throw made while in the trick circle (or Box) counts as a try.

5. Only the following may be done while the contestant is on deck (on stage but outside the trick ring): Throwdown, spinner, forward pass, a single Loop the Loop, or string adjustments (excluding Sleeping Beauty in the Advanced division prior to attempting that trick). Practicing a contest trick out side the circle or box once the contest starts shall count as a miss.

6. Equipment: Any yo-yo may be used. Use same yo-yo for all tricks (two-handed tricks may be done with two different fixed axle yo-yos).

7. No rigging of yo-yos or string allowed.

8. Loop the Loops must be done with feet fixed in one position within the trick circle.

9. The judge(s) decision is final and not subject to appeal.

10. Contestants may only enter one division/age category and the Freestyle (total of two divisions).

NOVICE DIVISIONS:
Compulsories Only - Novice Junior (12 years old & under) and Novice Senior (13 Years old up)

1. Sleeper (Spin of at least 3 seconds)

2. Forward Pass

3. Over the Falls

4. Breakaway

5. Walk the Dog (minimum of 6 inches)

6. Rock the Baby (1 full rock, back and forth)

7. Around the World (2 revolutions on one throw)

8. Inside Loop the Loop (5 repetitions)

Novice Division Tiebreakers sudden death style: * Consecutive Man on the flying trapeze (flip-over allowed).

ADVANCED DIVISIONS:
Compulsories Only - Advanced Junior – (15 years old & under) & Advanced Senior (16 years old up)

1. Walk the Dog (12 inches or more)

2. Around the Corner (Pluck string with yo-yo hand)

3. Reach for the Moon (2 repetitions)

4. Three Leaf Clover

5. Hop the Fence (10 repetitions)

6. Tidal Wave (Skin the Cat)

7. Brain Twister with 1 somersault,

8. Flying Saucer (Sleeping Beauty)

9. Man on the Trapeze (flip-over allowed)

10. Inside Loop the Loop (15 repetitions)

Advanced Division Tiebreakers sudden death style: Consecutive Man on the flying trapeze (NO flip-over allowed).


EXPERT DIVISION COMPULSORIES:
No Age Restrictions – Compulsories Only

1. Reach for the Moon (10 repetitions)

2. Pinwheel (3 repetitions performed in vertical plane with a pullover from a sleeper ending with an upward toss dismount)

3. Buddha's revenge

4. Brain Twister with 2 somersaults and a Skin the Cat dismount (no string hit misses)

5. Mach 5 (2 Revolutions)

6. Man on the Trapeze with 2 somersault with upward toss dismount (no flip-over)

7. Warp Drive, (3 regenerations of loop the loop to around the world combination)

8. Double or Nothing with an upward toss or rolling upward toss dismount (no flip-over)

9. Eli hop (yo-yo must go over your head)

10. Atom Smasher

* Pop N Fresh (2 full reps)
* Trapeze Regeneration until tie is broken.

FREESTYLE DIVISIONS: No Age Restrictions – Freestyle A and Freestyle X.

Contestants get to perform a their own routine synchronized to their choice of music for a total of three (3) minutes maximum. The timer starts when the music starts. No points will be scored for tricks done before the music starts, or after the 3-minute mark.

All music must be considered appropriate for all audiences. Contestants with inappropriate music (obscenities, offensive content, etc.) will be disqualified. If you are unsure about your music, a judge will be available to listen to your music and make sure it is appropriate.

Music must be provided on a CD or CD-R. Disc must be clearly labeled as to the track to be used, and contestant's name. Music burned to CD-R must be in standard audio format. It is the player’s responsibility to ensure that the music they bring to the contest is compatible with the equipment provided. Incompatibility issues from burned CD's, scratched CD's, or other problems are the player’s responsibility. If you have a music question or are unsure of compatibility, check beforehand. All musical CD's must be provided to the sound manager prior to the start of the freestyles for any division that a player is competing in. Mini-Disc, MDLP, CD-RW, and DVD formats are NOT accepted. Compressed formats such as MP3 or WMA audio files are NOT accepted.

Music must be in one track. Music extended over 2 tracks or over 2 media is not acceptable. Music will be stopped between 3:00 and 3:01. Music less than the allotted time will be stopped after 1 track played. If the music is stopped accidentally, the contestant may choose to continue his or her performance from the point that the music stopped or restart their performance at the end of the division.

All actions of a performer must take into account the safety of the audience, the facility, the judges, and the player. Judges have the ability at any time to disqualify a performer for behavior they deem dangerous or inappropriate. While performing, only the contestant can be on the stage, except for the trick contest. Contestants can only use articles that they brought on stage. Contestants cannot use any yo-yos passed to the stage by others.
